Inspired by the modern sharing economy, the Sedera Medical Cost Sharing model centers on Member-to-Member sharing, basically, people helping people.
Sedera Medical Cost Sharing Members support one another’s financial and physical health by sharing burdensome medical expenses.
Members are supported by services that empower them to be engaged healthcare consumers and are backed by a Community that cares.
With a Sedera Membership, you get:
Sedera Health offers employer healthcare solutions to Employers groups with a minimum of 3 employees. Less than 3 - Check out MPB.Health - Starts at a group of 1
Membership in a Virtual Direct Primary Care Practice
Membership in a Physical Direct Primary Care Practice
You choose the initial unsharable amount from $500-$5,000 when enrolling
A "NEED" is defined as the TOTAL of
ALL of the health and medical expenses experienced surrounding a new diagnosis, accident or illness.
The "Need" and is not closed until cured or 12 months has passed without new expenses
IUA stands for The initial Unshared Amount.
This is the initial amount the member is responsible for prior to the expenses being shared within the Sedera's medical cost sharing community.
All qualified health and medical expenses, after IUA is met, are shareable with the Sedera medical cost community at 100%
and without an annual or lifetime limit.
The Initial Unsharable Amount (IUA) is typically favorable for members versus a annual basis, as the health and medical care for a sickness or injury is often not limited to a single calendar or a membership year.
Let's say you fall of a ladder and you break your leg. You require emergency transport to an Urgent Care of ER, there you have the health and medical expenses of the physician, x-rays, etc and require crutches and incidentals.
Then, once home, you go to an Orthopedic Dr, go for a second opinion and let's say that you require surgery. The surgery, and all of the health and medical costs, post surgical physician visits, and rehabilitation therapy are all part of the one "Need" and the member is only required to contribute one time to the Initial Unshared Amount.
To further protect members:
If any individual has met 3 IUA's within a given year,
Or a couple, single parent or family, as more than 5 IUA's (Initial Unshared Amount) open, any further health and medical expense is then shared at dollar one without meeting any further IUA.
Sedera Shares in pre-existing health and medical conditions with the following graduated schedule:
Year 1 - No sharing on a pre-existing condition
Year 2 - Up to $15,000 towards for expenses surrounding that condition
Year 3 - Up to $30,000 towards expenses surrounding that condition.
After 36 months of membership there is not limits placed - condition is no longer considered pre-existing
